Spirit Science 1: Thoughts

We had our first meeting of our Spirit Science discussion group tonight.  What a great discussion! I'm so excited to see where this leads!

Tonight, we discussed Thoughts.
Here are some of the highlights of our discussion, and I hope you can join us for the next one (Monday, October 21st, 2013 at 7pm at Samsara Chiropractic Wellness Center).

Time is speeding up!
Who hasn't noticed it?  One person mentioned that even her 16 year old son had noticed it. And who hasn't had one of the connections mentioned... that intuitive knowing of someone you care for and what they need.

We are disconnected!
People are caught up in themselves and materialism.  The news media, facebook, and other people spew negativity. We can become connected again by shifting perspective and meditating.

Thoughts as things!
I think it's a fascinating concept - thoughts as things - though not one that is new to me. They are created, spreadable, and exist in their own realm. When we share an idea via conversation, facebook, email, etc, we are, in a sense, infecting the world with that idea.  Be aware of what you put out there.

Emotions are more powerful than thoughts!
Nonverbal communication is powerful and can help you reconnect with yourself, others, and your world. They create our circumstances. They are a choice and drive your actions and perspective.

Stop placing blame on anyone but yourself.
Emotions govern our thoughts and thoughts create our world, so you are solely responsible for any situation in your life, including illness. We choose our emotions and therefore our thoughts. Instead of beating yourself up for this, ask how you have contributed and work to amend those behaviors. Be a role model of fearless love and lead by example.

Final thoughts:
Practice nonverbal communication with those you love regularly and mindfully.  Remember that connecting to your intuition protects you. Search for the silver linings. Pull your thoughts into the physical realm and choose good ones. Feel good emotions and move into them. And above all, remember that everyone wants love, appreciation and acceptance. If you can share that with everyone you encounter, your world can't help but improve.

Imagine if you had been there to contribute YOUR ideas! Hope to see you next time!
